"Stopped in on a Sunday morning based on Yelp reviews - and so glad we did! There was live music, the option of sitting at a 'communal table,' friendly service and FABULOUS food (priced fairly)! Can't wait to go back to try other items on the menu."

"Country style deco and most items are fresh ingredients. Service is friendly and everything is very basic. Yellow sticky pad to take orders and payment thru the gift shop next door. Food came out like homemade and duck egg is an option for eggs."

"Stopped in on a motorcycle ride through Bandera. Very kind and courteous wait staff and the food was amazing. We had biscuits and gravy and the veggie scramble with biscuits. All was delicious. Will definitely be stopping again."

"I rarely gush about breakfast, but in this case a gush is deserved! This is a family owned restaurant ran with pride and it shows. Staff was fantastic. Service was fast, coffee hot and our food was perfect. I was very impressed with the chaffles as a bread substitute, they are delish! I can't recommend this place high enough."

"My wife and I were driving through Bandera and stopped in The Hen’s Nest for breakfast. We were met with a friendly greeting at the door. Service was very attentive and quick. They offered a variety of menu options. My wife had The Spark and I had The JT which were both excellent. What stood out more than anything was the friendliness of the staff. We were obviously from out of town, but everyone from the waiter, to the kitchen, and ending with the cashier, everyone made us feel right at home. The owner, Shelly, introduced herself and made us feel especially welcome. She gave us a little background about the business and connected with us on a personal level that we don’t get much in “big city” establishments. We highly recommend this business and will definitely be back."

"The Hen’s Nest is one of those places that instantly feels like home. The food is made with love—everything fresh, flavorful, and served with a genuine smile. From the eggs and crispy potatoes to the muffins and coffee, every detail is thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with charming decor and a calm, relaxed vibe. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive—you can tell this place is a local favorite, and it totally deserves to be. We’ve had breakfast all over Texas, but The Hen’s Nest is easily one of the best. If you’re in Bandera, don’t miss this gem—it’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again."

"My wife and I were in town looking to get a bite to eat and found this place as we were driving by. It's a very comfortable relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and informative. The food, oh my goodness gracious it was great. I mean it was amazing!! I ended up with a double yolk egg . That's never happened before. We're definitely hitting it up again for sure. The prices are average, so you won't be breaking the bank if y'all decide to check it out. One thing I found odd and peculiar is they have a box in the middle of the table. A red and white checkered box, Which I thought was a napkin dispenser. Well I was wrong big time. They are actually for tips! Can you imagine how embarrassed I was trying to get a napkin out to find out there for tips I immediately waved the waiter down and told her I was very sorry I had no idea. That's a funny memory we will cherish. Can't wait to go again!!!"

"First time, and the food and service were wonderful! The servers were very attentive and personable and offered a great customer service experience. The food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. We shared our table with some out-of-state visitors and really enjoyed meeting and sharing a meal with them. The atmosphere is cozy and casual, perfect for a relaxing breakfast/brunch. All around an amazing experience, and we look forward to enjoying many more meals in the future; 5+stars, highly recommend! (Edited for typo) Update: went back a couple of weeks ago during the cold snap. Lucked out and found the Hen's Nest open with immediate seating available. Tried the gravy and biscuits and also the Jt. As before, everything was delicious and service was awesome. Truly love this place (be sure and check out the shop too!) and can't wait for our next meal there."
